I interrupt this irregularly unscheduled broadcast to bring you this
review. The movie Sucker Punch has been receiving really bad reviews,
which I (mostly) think are undeserved. I liked the movie. I think it was
good. I would really love to say it was great, but unfortunately I
can't. The action scenes were awesomazing but the plot was... lacking.
Especially the ending. With so much adreneline-pumping action sequences, I was
hoping for for an ending where all the bad guys got theirs in spectacular
stabby, shooty, explosion-y ways. Would that kind of ending been trite?
Probably. Would it have worked and been more satisfying? HELL yes.
I can understand Zack Snyder's desire to make a movie with a thoughtful,
philosophical ending. I just wish he'd picked a different movie for that ending.
Ultimately, I can see owning this movie on blu-ray, and playing it in the
background, paying attention only during the action sequences.
I really like the soundtrack. Well, 8 of the 9 songs anyway. The song "asleep"
pretty much does just that.
Oh, one last thing. Ladies... no matter whether or not you liked the movie,
